Making an impact at Foodbank Victoria

Members of the CFO portfolio enjoyed a meaningful day putting healthy food on the table for thousands of Victorians.

Numbers don’t lie, but they can definitely inspire.

Members of our Finance team recently traded their spreadsheets for packing boxes to volunteer with Foodbank Victoria, who provide vital food relief across the state.

Our team packed a massive 352 hampers filled with fresh produce and pantry staples, equating to a total of 15,760 meals for people in need.

For Assistant Account Jonney Fang, the day was a powerful reminder of the positive impact we can all make.

“Volunteering at Foodbank Victoria was a rewarding experience. It was a great opportunity to work together as a team while making a meaningful contribution to the community, which gave us a real sense of achievement.

“I would highly recommend this volunteering experience to anyone looking to give back and make a positive difference, while getting some exercise too!” said Jonney.

Warehouse Team Leader, Miron Gebremariam, welcomed the opportunity to roll up her sleeves and get involved.

“I really enjoyed volunteering at Foodbank Victoria and having the opportunity to work together as a team while supporting such a meaningful cause.

“It was rewarding to see how our contribution could make a difference in the community, and I really enjoyed the experience,” said Miron.

To put the scale of their significance into perspective, Foodbank Victoria:

  • feeds nearly 70,000 Victorians every single day
  • works with a network of 1,200+ schools and nearly 500 charities
  • delivers weekly fresh food markets and mobile food buses
  • provides a vital lifeline during emergencies like bushfires and floods.

A huge thank you to Foodbank Victoria for the crucial work you do to support the community and put healthy food on the table for those who need it most.

This experience proved that every little bit makes a difference – it all adds up to a massive impact!
