Smile Squad gives families reasons to smile
Families across the state have even more reasons to smile thanks to an exciting new announcement.
Ahead of World Oral Health Day, Smile Squad visited Parliament House to showcase the program and share what’s been happening so far in 2026.
It was great to see strong interest from members of Parliament, with many stopping by to learn more about the impact of free school oral health care across Victoria.
Our CEO Susan McKee and COO Mark Sullivan stopped by and we were delighted to be joined by Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas MP.
It’s shaping up to be a big year for Smile Squad, with plenty more to come.
Smiles in Sunshine West
We bookended our World Oral Health Day celebrations with exciting news – we’re now bringing free oral health care to more families across the state!
On Monday 23 March, Premier Jacinta Allan announced the expansion of the Smile Squad free dental program. Students at selected low-fee non-government schools will soon gain access to the program – saving more families time and money.

Visiting the incredible students and teachers at St Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Sunshine West, the Premier was joined by Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Member for Laverton Sarah Connolly, Oral Health Victoria CEO Sue McKee, OHV Chief Operating Officer Mark Sullivan, and Smile Squad Oral Health Advisor Emily Walker.
Smile Squad will be available to 54 schools who have been invited to participate, followed by a phased roll out to all low-fee non-government schools.
