Staff step up to show support
Staff gave so generously for people experiencing homelessness during the OHV Donation Drive last month. Take a look at the impact they made.
Our amazing staff came out in force for the OHV Donation Drive, stepping up to support people experiencing homelessness across Victoria.
Held during Dental Health Week and Homelessness Week, we collected essential goods for two fantastic community organisations doing vital work, VincentCare’s Ozanam House and the Salvo’s Project 614. Donations were also made to Vinnies.
Thanks to your generosity, we donated:
- warm winter clothes and shoes
- cosy blankets and bedding
- essential pantry items and healthy snacks
- hygiene products, including razors, nappies, and deodorant.
OHV also donated a stack of oral health packs, each containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, and practical oral health tips.
A massive shout out to Health Promotion Officer Neha and Population Health Lead Alyrra Aron, along with entire Population Health team, for not only organising the Donation Drive, but sorting and cataloguing the dozens of donations.
Neha and Alyrra were joined by Community Advisory Committee member, Val, to hand over the generous donations at VincentCare’s Ozanam House in North Melbourne and the Salvo’s Project 614 on Bourke St.
Val has lived experience of homelessness and is a key member of our Project Strong Smiles steering committee.
“We were touched by the generosity shown by staff during the Donation Drive,” said Neha.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important cause.”
